ART TAKEOVER PROJECT '26

Join us for the 5th Annual Art Takeover Project, a month-long celebration of art, creativity, and community throughout Downtown Grosse Pointe.

Presented by Grosse Pointe Main Street and Posterity Art & Framing Gallery, Art Takeover Project was created to connect local artists, businesses, and community members through an interactive and accessible exhibition experience that transforms the Village Business District into a walkable art gallery.

In 2025, more than 80 artists showcased their work across 36 Grosse Pointe Village businesses, welcoming thousands of visitors to explore, discover, and support local creativity. As we celebrate our fifth year, we're excited to continue growing this unique community tradition.

About the Event

​

Throughout the month of September 2026, artwork will be displayed inside participating businesses across Downtown Grosse Pointe. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the district, vote for their favorite art displays, and participate in the annual Art Takeover Project Scavenger Hunt for prizes.

The exhibition is designed to create meaningful connections between artists, local businesses, and the community while bringing new energy and engagement to the Village business district.

Artists are invited to submit work in any medium and on any subject matter. Whether you create paintings, photography, mixed media, sculpture, fiber art, illustration, ceramics, digital art, or something entirely unique, we encourage you to apply.

Art Takeover Project celebrates the diversity of Southeast Michigan's creative community and welcomes a wide variety of artistic styles and perspectives.
